All-SDN Celluar Networks

To provide fleible network architecture and reudce service deployment cost, we design an all-SDN framework in cellular networks called OpenCELL, which is a platform for network services. A service provider publishes its services by contacting OpenCELL, uploading its virtualized network functions, and running its algorithm called network application (NA) to control the network functions. OpenCELL automatically deploys the virtualized network functions based on the network topology and the requirements of the service. OpenCELL also includes an OpenFlow controller to forward traffic among network functions.

Mobile Computing

the transmission mechanisms in the traditional personal communication services (PCS) networks and in the next-generation broadband all-ip networks are different. Therefore, the mobility models used in traditional PCS networks are not adaptive to 4G cases. In order to capture the essence of 4G network behavior, we propose the new mobility model to derive analytical results for the telecommunications traffic. We observe that derived analytical results can bring significant information to the department of network infrastructure.

Intelligent Sensing

we describe a long-range wake-up radio (LRWUR) and propose an overall metric for evaluating the Internet of Things (IoT) and wireless sensor networks (WSN). Experimental results show that the block orthogonal codes improve both of the communication range and packet error rate, thereby enhancing the wireless sensor node’s performance and reducing the cost of maintenance for IoT and WSN applications.

Security

Regarding to security and privacy problems in intelligent sensing and net`working applications, we address the challenges of the access control in a variety of environments: WSN and online social networks (OSNs). The main challenges are not only to solve the unique security and privacy problems in wireless networks, but also to consider the computation and communication efficiencies for energy-constraint devices (e.g., wireless sensor nodes and smart phones). Our goal aims for designs of stronger secure sensing and networking systems without consuming much resource of mobile deices.
